Sean Dyche was not giving anything away about the level of Burnley's interest in Brentford talisman Alan Judge.

The Clarets boss batted away questions after their 3-1 win at Griffin Park on Friday as he was grilled on the James Tarkowski situation.

Judge, unlike the central defender, did face Burnley, who saw bids for the Irishman rejected in the run-up to the game, and scored Brentford's consolation goal and Bees head coach Dean Smith hailed his character.

When asked about the interest in Judge, Dyche sarcastically said: “I can tell you about that one because the Sky reporter the other day said we'd agreed £8m for him.

He added: “It's Burnley. Burnley Football Club. It's Burnley, not like Arsenal or Manchester United. My point is that's how far-fetched these things can be.”

The Burnley boss believes Brentford have a good squad and Judge is just one of the 'decent' players they have at their disposal.

Dyche added: “I think he's a decent player. I think Brentford have some very good players.

“I know Mark Warburton well and he had a fair say in a lot of those players and how they've developed and how they've moved forward.

“I think they've got a different model in the way they do their business and they've found some very good players.”
