Brentford have signed an excellent goalkeeper in Luke Daniels, according to Scunthorpe fans.

The Iron stopper kept 12 clean sheets last season in all competitions as he helped his side to finish in the play-off places.

It wasn't enough to win promotion as they were beaten by eventual winners Millwall in the semi finals.

And Scunthorpe fans, except of one, have expressed their disappointment about his departure on Twitter.

Daniels played with Dan Bentley at Southend and one Shrimpers supporter dug out a picture with the hashtag #cleansheetkings.

Phil Giles, Brentford's co-director of football, said after the signing: "From a club perspective, having three quality goalkeepers in the squad, as well as young players like Ellery Balcombe developing in the B Team, means we are well covered in this area and have great competition to play.

“Giving each of them appropriate game time is something we will address over the course of pre-season.

“I'd like to welcome Luke to Brentford and look forward to him making a big contribution over the coming seasons."
