RB Leipzig are the latest club to register an interest in £15million rated Brentford striker Scott Hogan.
The German side are second in the Bundesliga, three points behind Bayern Munich, after being founded in 2009.
It is owned by drinks giant Red Bull, who have a host of football clubs, ice hockey sides and Formula One teams.
Hogan has previously expressed his desire of playing Premier League football and, in an exclusive interview with GetWestLondon , outlined his career aims.
He said in December: “I don’t read it. I get told it. It’s no bother to me. If someone is getting linked with someone we’re doing well.
“I don’t want to be in the Championship long – I want to play in the Premier League.
“I think the teams I’ve been linked with are Championship teams. I don’t want to play Championship football all my career.
“I’ve seen those teams. Who knows what’s going to happen? It’s not up to me – it’s up to Brentford. I wouldn’t leave for a Championship club unless Brentford do it. That’s not my problem.
“Speculation is part and parcel of football and it’s for when people are doing well. I didn’t know anything about it.
“Whatever happens. If people want to talk they can. It doesn’t bother me. People can make stories up and they can get on social media and tweet me – I’m not going to reply to it.
“People like to talk – it’s part of football and we have to get on with it.”
Hogan may have left the north west to head to Brentford but the north west has never left him and a move to a Premier League club closer to home appears to be the striker's preference.
He explained in April: “It (the north west) is a safe haven away from the troubles I've had. Even if I'm doing well here, going home reminds you where you're from, grounds yourself, you get the people around you telling you what you're doing.
“My grandparents will tell me straight. That's my family – the typical northerner you can draw up, that's them – and I wouldn't have it any other way.
“It's a safe haven away from here. I love it down here but it gets me away from it. I'll always be thinking about football.”
That being said, if Leipzig match Brentford's valuation then the club will accept and Hogan may well be convinced to play in one of the best leagues in the world.
Elsewhere, the Coventry Telegraph are reporting that Brentford are lining up a £1.5million bid for midfielder Ben Stevenson.
The Bees have been monitoring the 19-year-old's progress after breaking through at the Sky Blues and the League One strugglers appear in a position where selling a star talent is a necessity.
“Whether it’s Ben Stevenson or not, we have to look at balancing the books,” chairman Tim Fisher said in a recent radio interview.
“I want to be crystal clear, I’m not going to sit here and say ‘no we are not selling a footballer’ I want to sit here and say ‘look if we have to sell a footballer we’ll sell a footballer.’
“But equally, on the other side of the equation, if we can bring some footballers in using some of that monies then we will do. Because this squad will require some surgery as loan players leave and other players come in. We need the money to do that and I’m not ruling out selling.”
Sergi Canos' Twitter activity appears to suggest he is open to returning to Brentford on loan.
The popular Spaniard, who scored the goal of the season last year, has liked a number of tweets from Bees fans expressing their desire to see Canos in red and white stripes again.
Of course, it could be that the the 19-year-old appreciates the fond thinking supporters have of him.
However, he has made just three Championship appearances since joining the Canaries and a return to Griffin Park, where he made 38 appearances last year may well be appealing to him.
Speaking of Twitter, the Birmingham Mail has reported that Birmingham City has followed Alan Judge on Twitter.
The Irishman is out of contract at Griffin Park at the end of the season but is currently recovering from a broken leg suffered in April last year.
Contract talks stalled in 2016 but, with Judge's absence longer than anticipated, there is an increased chance that a deal may yet be reached.
