Brentford are keeping tabs on Watford defender Tommie Hoban.

The 20-year-old, who has previously been linked with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, came through the ranks at Vicarage Road and has gone on to make 38 appearances for the Hornets.

The Bees are scouring the market to improve their squad as they refuse to rest on their laurels despite a storming start to the season.

Highly rated: Hoban in action earlier this season

Hoban is among the players on Brentford's radar. He has played 11 times for Watford so far this season and was a late substitute in their 2-1 win against the Bees back in September.

The Republic of Ireland U21 international still has two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract with the Championship club.

Brentford boss Mark Warburton, who was at Vicarage Road at the same time as Hoban, has until later this week to add a loan signing to his squad, or make do with what he's got until the transfer window re-opens in the new year.
