Will Grigg's future at Brentford is up in the air as MK Dons boss Karl Robinson is unsure whether a deal can be struck between the two clubs to make the Northern Irishman's loan deal permanent.

The striker has scored 15 goals this season, including two against Manchester United in the Buckinghamshire club's 4-0 win over the Red Devils in August.

With manager Mark Warburton leaving Griffin Park at the end of the season, a new manager may be interested in looking at Grigg to see if he can fit in his plans.

While Robinson is grateful to Brentford for allowing the striker to join MK on loan but is unsure what his long-term future at the club is.

He told GetWestLondon : “We don't know whether we can afford him or make it happen. I'm sure the two chairmen will speak about it in the summer.

“I'm sure once that's happened. We don't know what's going on. Brentford gave us the opportunity to work with him.

“Frank McParland and Mark Warburton are top people. They allowed us to have him and you don't know what's around the corner.

“He's been brilliant and got 15 goals from open play. That shows you how well he's done for us. Hopefully he can score more goals and lift us up the table.”
