Scott Hogan has rubbished talk linking the Brentford striker with a move to Premier League champions Leicester City.

Reports had suggested that the Foxes were running the rule over the Bees frontman, who impressed in the final seven games of the season after returning from 18 months on the sidelines with two anterior cruciate ligament injuries.

And Hogan insisted that he hasn't given the speculation a second though and is purely focused on Brentford.

He said: “I have nothing to say on any rumours. People need to fill pages. There are three things true on the papers and that's the title, date and price.

“I've made seven appearances. It's just stupid. I'm a Brentford player. It's stupid to consider any rumours.

“Until you see from the club that something has happened, it's stupid. We want to focus on playing football and getting to the Premier League. It doesn't affect me and I've not given it a second thought.”

After spending 18 months on the sidelines, Hogan is determined to continue to repay the Bees who stuck by him during the difficult times and is targeting over 30 goals this campaign.

He added: “The more time I spend on the pitch, the more I'll repay the club. I have no issues whatsoever with repaying the club.

“They put me on the pitch, I'll repay them. I think the club know that now – I've proved it. I'll continue to prove it and want to do it over the season.

“I want to score 30+ goals – that's what I want to do. I think I had 12 chances against Peterborough.

“In a game, it's different and my mindset is different. The more I'm on the pitch, the more I'll repay them.”
