Brentford are set to keep hold of John Egan and Maxime Colin after rejecting offers from Sheffield United and Birmingham respectively.
The Bees, who have sold Harlee Dean to the Blues with Jota set to join him at St Andrews, were unwilling to see their other senior player at right centre back leave and the second city side have, so far, failed to meet the valuation placed on Colin.
Egan joined the club last summer after his Gillingham contract came to an end, with the west Londoners paying the Gills compensation.
The past 12 months have seen the Irishman make his international debut and he has already found the net twice this season.
Colin, on the other hand, moved to Griffin Park from Anderlecht in 2015 and has impressed with his performances at right back.
He had been deemed likely to leave west London this summer but, with no club yet meeting his valuation, the Frenchman appears set to remain at Griffin Park.
