Brentford are unlikely to make a move to bring back Marcello Trotta – and even less likely to land him – according to David Weir.

The Italian U21 international spent much of the last two seasons on loan with the Bees from Fulham, but has been left kicking his heels at Craven Cottage this term.

Fulham this week made Trotta available for loan again, but Bees assistant boss Weir cannot see him coming back for a third spell at Griffin Park.

He said: “Marcello has been a good player for us over the past two years, but I'm not sure Fulham, now being a league rival, would sanction a move to us.”
