Brentford plan to offer a new deal to Alan Judge in a bid to tie down the midfielder’s long-term future.

The Irishman has been one of the Bees’ best performers this term and tops the scoring charts with 10 goals.

Judge’s exploits have attracted the attention of a string of sides, with Championship rivals Sheffield Wednesday seeing an offer fall well short of the club’s £6million valuation earlier this week.

The 27-year-old has just 18 months remaining on his contract at Griffin Park, report Mirror Online , but Bees chiefs are poised to table improved terms in an attempt to nail him down.

Brentford boss Dean Smith said of the bid for Judge this week: “There was an initial bid for Alan Judge and it was turned down as it was nowhere near meeting our valuation of the player so we move on.

“I speak to my players all the time. My policy is always to be honest with them and let them know what's happening.

“I always tell them that heads can get turned by bids but weren't you happy when you signed your contract at Brentford. Yes, you're still under contract at Brentford .”

Meanwhile, the west Londoners have also resisted a bid from former boss Mark Warburton as Rangers look to land midfield anchorman Toumani Diagouraga.

The Scottish giants are expected to return with a fresh offer.
