Brentford have had a bid of around £1.2million rejected for Sporting de Gijón defender Bernardo Espinosa.

Reports in Spain suggest the Bees have failed with their offer for the Colombian centre-back, with the Secunda Division outfit determined to keep hold of the 25-year-old.

Brentford brought Marcos Tebar and Jota from Spain in the summer and want to make Espinosa their latest recruit from the continent.

Meanwhile, the Bees have had a £500,000 offer for Southend keeper Daniel Bentley knocked back by the Shrimpers, according to the Daily Mail.

Young forward Montell Moore is set to be sent out on loan to FC Midtjylland, who are also owned by Bees supremo Matthew Benham.
