Brentford have agreed a deal to sign Leicester left-back Callum Elder on loan, reports Mirror Online.

The 21-year-old impressed at Peterborough last season but has opted to continue his development a division above with the Bees.

Dean Smith’s side have been on the lookout for a new left-back since Jake Bidwell joined Championship rivals QPR earlier this month.

The highly rated Australian is due to sign a new deal with the Premier League champions before heading out on loan.

Elder spent the second half of the 2014/15 season on loan at Mansfield where he made 21 appearances in League Two.

Last season saw him make the move to London Road and Peterborough and he impressed during his stint there, scoring once in 18 appearances.

A foot injury ended his loan spell with Posh and they had been keen to bring him back this summer before Elder chose Brentford.
