Toumani Diagouraga has confirmed that he will leave Brentford to join Leeds United on Twitter.

The Frenchman spent six years with the west London club and helped the Bees win promotion to the Championship.

He was at his imperious best last season as Brentford reached the play-offs in their first season in the second tier.

But he has joined the Griffin Park exodus of the past few months and has agreed a deal to move to Elland Road.

Diagouraga wrote on Twitter: “I would like to wish all the best to everyone at Brentford I had a fantastic 6 years full of great memories which I will never forget.

“Thanks for all the welcoming messages I am looking forward to a new challenge with #lufc (Leeds United) can't wait to get started”

Ironically, Diagouraga could make his Leeds debut at Griffin Park on Tuesday as the Yorkshire side seek their first win over Brentford since 1961.

The Frenchman's departure leaves Bees head coach Dean Smith short of options in the middle of the park with Josh McEachran still attempting to attain full match fitness, while Lewis Macleod is nearing his debut.
