Akaki Gogia's time as a Brentford player is over after he completed a permanent move to German side Dynamo Dresden for an undisclosed fee.

The 25-year-old, who joined the Bees on a free transfer in 2015, spent last season on loan with the 2. Bundesliga side.

And Gogia was allowed to make the move permanent, although he also appears likely to move on to Union Berlin, who have been tracking his signature all summer.

The Georgian born midfielder moved to Griffin Park two years ago from FC Hallescher and was confirmed a day after the Bees' season came to an end in the Championship play-offs.

The former German youth international made just 14 appearances in his first season in west London and, when he was not guaranteed regular playing time at Brentford , returned to his homeland and joined Dynamo Dresden on a season long loan.

He made 24 appearances for Dresden, scoring 10 goals as the German side finished fifth in the second tier.
