Brentford have added a winger to their January transfer window wishlist but are no closer to any deals, Dean Smith has confirmed.

The Bees are active in the transfer window but have yet to make a signing so far this month.

While wing wizard Jota returned to Griffin Park, Sullay Kaikai went the other way after he was recalled by Crystal Palace.

And Smith confirmed the club are looking to replace their former loanee this month as well as add a midfielder to their ranks.

Returned: Sullay Kaikai

The Brentford head coach said: “We brought Jota back which strengthens us there. With Sull going back to Crystal Palace we might look to strengthen there.”

That said, the club are no closer to making any new additions at this current time.

Smith revealed: “There are ins we are working on. We're speaking to people all the time. All parties have to agree. There's no breaking news speaking to my directors of football.”
