Brentford have opened talks with striker Lasse Vibe over a new deal to stay at the club.

The 30-year-old is coming into the final year of his three year contract with the Bees and he has impressed during his time at the club.

In his first season at Griffin Park, the Denmark international found the net on 14 occasions, despite undergoing a difficult run of form where he didn't score in three months.

His second season in west London saw him play second fiddle to Scott Hogan and Vibe only had two goals to his name as 2017 began. The Dane's season actually started in Brazil where he captained his country at the Olympics.

But, after Hogan's departure to Aston Villa, Vibe found the net on a regular basis, adding 14 goals to his name before the end of the season.

And Brentford are keen to keep hold of their main striker, especially after the departure of Philipp Hofmann, with 19-year-old Justin Shaibu the only other option.
