Marcos Tebar has had his Brentford contract terminated by mutual consent.

The Spanish midfielder made six appearances for the Bees after signing from Almeria last term but did not feature for the west Londoners this season.

Tebar will now return to his homeland in advance of the opening of the January transfer window as he searches for a new club.

A statement on the club’s website read: “Spanish midfield player Marcos Tébar Ramiro has left Brentford after a mutual agreement was reached for the termination of his contract.

“The 29-year-old spent 18 months in West London but signed an agreement to end his contract yesterday, Saturday 19 December.

“He will now return to Spain ahead of the opening of the Transfer Window on 2 January 2016. All at Brentford FC thank Marcos and wish him all the best for the future.”

Brentford were convincing 4-2 winners over Huddersfield Town at Griffin Park on Saturday.
