Dean Smith remained tight-lipped over the futures of Harlee Dean and Jota after Brentford's 4-1 win over west London rivals QPR.

The pair were absent from the Bees' matchday squad, with the Spaniard also missing out at Ipswich with a back injury.

Middlesbrough, Hull and West Ham have all been interested in Jota, with reports claiming that Boro have had a £4million bid turned down, while Leeds have shown an interest in Dean, who won player of the season last year from the supporters.

When asked if there were any bids, Smith replied: “I've left that all down to the directors of football.

“Harlee, Yoann (Barbet), Sergi Canos, Woodsy (Ryan Woods) all did a bit of training this afternoon. Woodsy looked good enough to get on the pitch tonight.”

Jota's replacement in the team, Josh Clarke, had an impressive performance and scored his second goal in as many games at Loftus Road.

And Smith joked that the right sided player is the first name on the team-sheet when the Bees visit in November.

“He seems to like this place. He's already put himself on the team sheet when we come here next,” he head coach added.

“I thought our front three were excellent and for 40 minutes were outstanding.”
