Brentford are making progress on their summer transfer business, Dean Smith has confirmed.

Bees fans believe a holding midfielder and a striker are the priorities for the club this summer and the head coach has previously confirmed a frontman is his number one target.

While Smith would not give away any names, as you would expect, he did confirm that Brentford are working in a number of avenues to bolster their squad in the off-season.

He said: “There's been work going on behind the scenes throughout. We came through the January transfer window.

“The big talking point was Scott (Hogan) and he eventually went to Aston Villa. We're working through that and Andy Scott, Rasmus Ankersen and Phil Giles are working very hard.

“We've had another recruitment meeting yesterday and we've got a number of boxes covered hopefully we can have something come the end of the season.”
