Dean Smith has insisted that Jota will be a Brentford player unless a substantial bid comes in for the Spanish wing wizard.
Smith confirmed that the club have received no bids for Jota over the course of this summer transfer window.
But that hasn't stopped the likes of Newcastle, West Ham, Everton, Swansea and Burnley among others being interested in the 26-year-old.
He said: “For me, it's no saga. I've said all along that unless someone makes a substantial bid for him he'll stay at Brentford and he's happy to do so.
“I have no qualms about the commitment of Jota and long may it continue.”
Smith, though, continued to insist that Jota was happy to remain a Brentford player and will be available for selection against Southampton.
“Jota was led to believe there was an imminent bid. A bid hasn't come in and he's happy to play for Brentford,” he added.
“He'll be available for Southampton. He's looking forward to playing.”
