Former AFC Wimbledon striker Charlie Strutton has emerged as a transfer target for Wealdstone.

The frontman was one of nine players shown the door by Dons manager Neal Ardley as part of a mass cull at Kingsmeadow this summer.

Wealdstone are preparing to make the step up to the Conference South having been crowned champions of the Ryman Premier.

Gordon Bartlett is looking for more firepower up front and Get West London understands Strutton has been identified as the man to get the goals next term.

He spent a productive loan spell at Braintree last term, where he scored six goals in seven games, and then suffered a bad injury while playing for Aldershot Town.

Strutton was signed by Terry Brown in March 2012 after impressing the ex-Dons boss with his predatory instincts in the Southern League at Chalfont St Peter.

Wealdstone are also interested in Marvin McCoy following his release by Wycombe Wanderers.
