Brentford have turned their attentions elsewhere after having a bid rejected for Sporting Kansas City striker Dom Dwyer.

The 24-year-old has smashed 14 MLS goals so far this season and his exploits have caught the attention of a number of clubs.

Bees boss Mark Warburton wants to add another frontman to his ranks following the captures of Andre Gray and Scott Hogan.

Dwyer, Tours star Andy Delort and Chelsea youngster Patrick Bamford were all on their list of targets.

Not coming: Brentford have ended their interest in Andy Delort

Brentford were close to signing Delort last week, only for the deal to hit a snag, while they had an offer knocked back for former Norwich City trainee Dwyer.

However, Warburton looks close to ending his search for more firepower with a new striker expected through the door later today.

Meanwhile, the club have agreed a one-year deal with former QPR and Cardiff City forward Tommy Smith.
