Brentford have put a block on James Tarkowski's loan move to Oldham.

The Bees signed the young centre-back from the Latics last week and planned to send him back to Boundary Park for a month to continue his development.

But with Tony Craig playing with a broken hand and Harlee Dean just back from injury, boss Mark Warburton has decided to keep Tarkowski in west London.

He told Bees Player: "James was due to go back to Oldham and maintain his fitness and we could recall him after 28 days.

"But Tony has a problem with his hand and Harlee's just come back from injury, so we have to be aware of that.

"We have to make sure all bases are covered here."

Meanwhile, Brentford's game with Crawley has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
