AFC Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley is keen to extend the loan of QPR midfielder Frankie Sutherland.

The 20-year-old has impressed for the Dons during his short spell at the club and Ardley has recognised his contribution, particularly in their recent revival over the last few weeks.

“Frankie’s loan is up on November 29 after the deadline," the Dons’ boss told the club website.

"We’ve a tough schedule in December so I will speak to QPR and Frankie about it. He’s a player I would like to keep at the club during that spell."

The Ireland U21 international had made just two competitive appearances in his career before arriving at Kingsmeadow, but is now keeping Dons’ stalwart Sammy Moore out of the side.

Ahead of the eagerly anticipated congested Christmas period, Ardley has also acknowledged the possible returns of Mark Phillips and Harry Pell from their respective loan deals.

“If they do come back to us then that will be great because we will have real competition for places,” added the 42-year-old.
