Adel Taarabt has told pals he has his heart set on a move to AC Milan.

The mercurial Moroccan scored four goals in 16 games for the Serie A side after his loan switch from QPR in January.

Taarabt is due to return to Rangers for pre-season training at the end of the month, but his future at Loftus Road remains in the balance.

The 25-year-old's deal in W12 doesn't expire until 2016, although it is unclear whether he figures in Harry Redknapp's plans for next season.

However, Taarabt has told friends he wants a permanent switch to Italy.

A source close to the player said:  "He’d like to go to AC Milan. I think that would be his choice, if he could."

Taarabt has made 156 appearances for QPR, scoring 34 goals.
