DIVISION ONE SOUTH AND WEST Uxbridge 3 Burnham 2
Two goals within a minute saw Uxbridge end their four-game losing streak with a narrow and dramatic win over Burnham.
The Reds had seen an early lead cancelled out when in the 73rd minute Danny Tilbury's shot deflected off Ryan Bird and found its way into the net for a lucky equaliser.
Relief then turned to delight moments later as left back Dave Thomas cracked home a fine effort from just inside the area for his first goal of the season.
Uxbridge keeper Matt Burton, standing in for the injured Paul McCarthy, saved his side early on with a good stop from Leon Yarnie and instead it was the Reds that opened the scoring thanks to great work by David Warner.
He did well to get on to a through ball and then turn his marker and find Dave Lawrence in support and although he was forced wide by Burnham keeper Chico Ramos, despite the angle and the best efforts of the recovering Rob Paris, Lawrence just managed to find the net.
A half of few clear chances ended with the teams level as a hesitant Burton failed to beat Jordan Dowdican to the ball which ran loose for Yarnie to sweep home.
Kevin Warner was denied by Ramos at the start of the second period and on the hour Lee Canavan headed in Ben Hudell's corner to put Burnham in front but there was another twist in the tale as Uxbridge, driven on by Thomas as much as anyone, turned the game on its head.
After their rapid double strike it was the Reds' turn to hang on as Dowdican fired wide when well placed and Burton foiled Richard Witt, before in stoppage time Hudell crashed a free kick against the bar to leave the hosts with a long overdue win.
