It’s just seven points in seven home games for QPR after another frustrating 1-1 draw with Reading.

Pawel Wszolek’s first goal for Hoops was a special one. But Daniel Williams’ strike cancelled it as Rs’ failed to build on momentum gained from the derby win at Fulham.

Here’s our reflections on another might-have-been day at Loftus Road.

An honourable draw for two former teammates

Managers Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Jaap Staam wore the orange of Holland together, as well as battles between Chelsea and Manchester United.

Perhaps fitting then first joust as counterparts in the dugout should end in a draw. But defender Staam will surely enjoy his weekend more.

Home woes continue for Rs

Hasselbaink’s side haven’t had that winning feeling in W12 since the season’s opening day.

The old maxim about both boxes is ringing true for Rs’ who haven’t managed a clean sheet in seven league games, while target-man Sebastian Polter will have nightmares about the second half sitter he missed.

Lynch yet to become a lynchpin

The former Huddersfield man picked up where he’d left off before the international break, plugging what is a trouble spot at left back in the absence of the injured Jake Bidwell.

But a few worrying moments against the pacey Garath McCleary early on were enough to confirm full-back isn’t his ideal spot.

However, Grant Hall’s injury could see him shifted inside.

Debut: Pawel Wszolek scores

A sumptuous goal

Pawel Wszolek’s brilliant first goal for the club saw teenager Olamide Shodipo claim a fine assist. Sadly, it counted only for a point, but the moment of magic from two of the club’s bright young things was a ray of hope amongst frustration.

A nostalgic moment and a current reminder

A host of former Rs’ legends including Stan Bowles, Don Shanks, Ian Gillard, Phil Parkes and Clive Wilson and current Director of Football Les Ferdinand were feted on the pitch at half-time.

It was the launch of the Forever Rs’ former players’ association.

But it served to inadvertently remind that the class of 2017 has some way to go to warrant entry into such exalted company.
