Jose Mourinho is sticking to his line that Chelsea are not favourites for the title, even though they are four points clear at the top.

With Man City and Arsenal in cup action this weekend and Liverpool inactive, the Blues could extend their lead to seven points by beating Spurs at the Bridge today (Saturday).

But the Blues' boss maintains that Man City's games in hand mark them out as unofficial leaders.

“I'm not top of the league,” Mourinho said on the eve of Tottenham's visit to the Bridge.

“That's the problem. I'm not top of the league. I'm top of the league the day I have played the same number of matches as the other teams, and I have more points.

“If that happens, I can say I'm top of the league. Until that moment, if other teams have matches in hand and can be top of the league if they win them, they are top of the league. At this moment, I'm not top of the league.”

”I keep saying that it's not a realistic situation. A realistic situation is teams with the same number of matches.

"When some teams have more matches than other teams, the situation is not real. So I don't look to the table.”
