A James Tarkowski own goal condemned Brentford to a first defeat in three games at Birmingham City yesterday - and they key moments are captured in our gallery.

The Bees could have few complaints as they looked off the pace at St Andrews, which was as much admitted by manager Mark Warburton after the game.

Not even after Stephen Gleeson's late sending off for a stamp on Alex Pritchard could Brentford find a way back into the game.

Warburton said: “We lacked a bit of quality today and we didn't take care of the ball. We had a lot of possession but lacked a bit of care with the final ball. The pitch made it a challenge too.

“It's a tough, tough league, and while there are still a lot of points to be played for, it doesn't matter what the rest of the top eight are doing if we're beaten by the teams below us.”
