DIVISION ONE SOUTH AND WEST AFC Hayes 1 Bridgwater Town 4
Victor Osobu gave AFC Hayes an early lift at Farm Park before Bridgwater Town came roaring back to hand Joe Mitchell's side an eighth defeat from 11 league games.
Osobu went past a couple of players and fired into the far corner in only the eighth minute to stun the play-off contenders from Somerset and the hosts might have gone further ahead.
The same man had a sight of goal but the striker delayed his shot and the ball was cleared.
Bridgwater gradually found their feet and with Anton Olondo pulling the strings it was he who crossed to the far post where three attackers were waiting to pounce.
James Harry saved the first attempt but Chris Young netted the second effort for a 35th minute equaliser.
Hayes created but missed further opportunities before Harry needed lengthy treatment for a facial injury and straight from the restart Graham Mercieca found the net from 30 yards to take Bridgwater in front a minute from the interval.
After the break Dean Papali went through with only Stuart Wood to beat, he took the ball past the keeper but delayed his final shot and Bridgwater snuffed out the danger.
Play went from end to end and Hayes had their chances to equalise but in the 75th minute Mercieca smashed home another 30-yarder to give the visitors some breathing space, before five minutes from time Steve Orchard wrapped up a 4-1 win.
