WESTMINSTER'S Tony Stockman was part of the Middlesex and Home Counties Blind FC team that have strengthened their position in the National Blind League.

Stockman played a vital role in a defence that only conceded two goals in four matches that were played back-to-back due to delays.

A hard earned 0-0 draw against Sporting Club Albion set the mood for the rest of the day which was built upon when they beat Everton 2-0, via Michael Smith’s brace, with their opponents having no shots all match.

But Middlesex's hard work was undone in 1-0 defeats by Leicestershire and Worcester.

Former England International Darren Cooke shone as he scored in Leicestershire's game while current England international Keryn Seal broke Middlesex hearts with a last minute winner that gave Worcester victory.

But other results played into Middlesex's favour who now sit three points clear in fourth ahead of Everton.

The final round of games will be played on March 26 and the team are still able to secure a solid final mid table position.
