Weston Super Mare 1 Wealdstone 2

Wealdstone head into tonight’s match against league leaders Havant & Waterlooville with renewed hope after beating Weston Super Mare on Saturday.

The Stones, currently second bottom, won their second Conference South match in three in Somerset, and fans will be hoping they have turned a corner ahead of tonight's test at The Vale.

Scott McLeish and Tom Hamblin helped Wealdstone to victory after they trailed at the break, and manager Gordon Bartlett will be hoping for similar spirit against Havant.

Although Wealdstone had the lion’s share of possession against Weston, they were left to rue missed opportunities in the first half by Luke O’Nien and McLeish when Dayle Grubb slammed home to give the hosts the lead.

The visitors came storming out for the second half, however, and were soon level through McGleish nodding home from six yards.

Hamblin repeated the feat just 15 minutes later to give the visitors all three points, and a huge boost ahead of Havant.
