Brentford 3-2 Swindon Town

Brentford twice came from behind to extend their unbeaten run to 11 games thanks to Marcello Trotta's winner.

The on-loan Fulham frontman landed the decisive blow to settle the five-goal thriller at Griffin Park after Sam Saunders and Clayton Donaldson had hauled the Bees level.

Manager Mark Warburton made two changes from the side that beat Preston on Saturday, with Saunders and Will Grigg replacing Kadeem Harris and George Saville.

Bees started positively,  but it was Swindon who took the lead on nine minutes.

Alex Pritchard played in Spurs team-mate Ryan Mason, who took the ball in his stride to slot under David Button from 10 yards.

Brentford almost hit back through Saunders' curling free-kick, only for Wes Foderingham to spectacularly turn the ball over.

However, the Bees did level just before the half-hour mark with a trademark Saunders set-piece.

The former Dagger slipped on his first attempt, but dusted himself down to fire an unstoppable free-kick across Foderingham into the far corner.

Brentford almost edged ahead before the break when Foderingham made a hash of Trotta's long-range effort, while the hosts had a penalty shout waved away when Jake Bidwell's cross appeared to strike the hand of one-time Bees target Darren Ward.

However, the home side fell behind again on 52 minutes. Jonathan Douglas gave the ball away cheaply to Pritchard, whose deflected shot fell into the path of Nicky Ajose to slot in.

Bees were level 60 seconds later when Alan McCormack's cross was powered home by Donaldson's diving header.

The hosts had the chance to go ahead when Trotta twisted and turned his way through the entire Swindon defence, but his tame effort was easily saved by Foderingham.

Brentford had a scare at the other end when Pritchard tried his luck from 25 yards, but Button pushed the ball to safety.

However, the hosts deservedly took the lead for the first time in the game on 70 minutes.

Douglas flicked the ball into the path of Trotta, who made amends for his miss to swivel and lift his shot over Foderingham from a tight angle.

The Bees had Button to thank for preserving their lead when he dived full-stretch to keep out Pritchard's free-kick.

Sub Farid El Alagui almost added a fourth in stoppage-time, but his shot flew wide as the home side held on.

Bees: Button, McCormack, Dean, Craig, Bidwell, Douglas, Forshaw, Saunders (Reeves 78), Donaldson, Grigg (Dallas 39), Trotta (El Alagui 90).

Subs (not used): Lee, O'Connor, Logan, Diagouraga.
