Farnborough 1-2 Hayes & Yeading

Jack Mills hit a dramatic stoppage-time winner to cap-off a fine victory for battling Hayes & Yeading at Farnborough.

Mills rammed home a penalty in added-time to steal all three points after Louie Soares had cancelled out Josh Huggins’ early opener.

Farnborough took the lead on 12 minutes as Huggins rose highest to meet an inswinging corner and powered a header past Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz.

Soares came closest to levelling things up before half-time when he sent a low shot just wide of the post after being picked out by Mills.

Hayes & Yeading manager Phil Babb felt a change was necessary at the interval and brought on Kelvin Bossmsan in place of Anthony Furlonge.

United started the second period brightly and were only denied the equaliser by the crossbar as Dean Inman headed Tom Bird's set-piece onto the woodwork.

Farnborough then had the frame of the goal rattling at the other end. Phil Page struck an explosive shot against the foot of the post after some lovely build-up play.

Bossman forced a decent full-stretch save from Boro goalkeeper Kevin Scriven as time ticked away at Paddy Power Park.

But Scriven could do nothing about what happened next as Soares cut inside from the right wing and blasted home to draw the visitors level.

He should have made it a double moments later, however the United man somehow failed to find the net from inside the six-yard box in the closing stages.

There was still time for late drama.

Frankie Merrifield brought down in stoppage time and Mills sent the keeper the wrong way from the spot and sprinted over to the away fans to celebrate his winner.
