Uwe Rosler praised match-winner Adam Forshaw after the midfielder's stoppage-time penalty earned Brentford victory at Tranmere.

With regular taker Will Grigg off the pitch, the former Everton youngster held his nerve to slam home his spot-kick to seal the points at Prenton Park as the Bees edged a seven-goal thriller.

“Our normal penalty-taker wasn't on the pitch and I decided on Adam Forshaw straight away,” said boss Rosler.

“That's how much trust I have in him.

“It wasn't his best game overall, but he was our match-winner today.”

Brentford earned their first win in three games and their first away win of the campaign to get their promotion push back on track.

“We were excellent and were 2-0 up,” Rosler added. “We stopped doing what was working for us, but the most important thing is that we bounced back after last week.

“It's a difficult place to come but we managed to get the win.”
