QPR 3-2 Leicester City

Charlie Austin bagged his seventh goal of the season and all three points - but at what cost?

The ace scorer was exactly where he needed to be to head home in a pulsating game, but defender Suk-Young Yun limped off in the second half to pose selection problems ahead of the away clash at Swansea on Tuesday night.

Rangers got the better of five goals - but it was close.

No goal for five games, and then Leicester score after six minutes.

A weak attempt at a header and a tackle that spun off Leonardo Ulloa left Esteban Cambiasso a low shot from 12 yards that was pinpoint accurate as it crept past Rob Green's outstretched right hand.

Leicester should have doubled the lead a bit later, but Riyad Mahrez touched the ball wide of the post as City asked the questions.

Rangers had the answer - eventually.

Threaded passes and careful build up kept the ball in the opposition half, only for a wall of red to clear with chest, knee and boot.

But when Steven Caulker pushed the ball across the box from the left on another dangerous foray, Wes Morgan unwittingly did the job with an own goal.

Goal! Leroy Fer drives down and in for Hoops' second

Second later as Rs congratulated themselves, Jamie Vardy was through only for Green to make a tremendous block.

But a 30-minute battering ram produced the goods in the last minute of the first half.

A fantastic curling cross from Joey Barton was met by the granite head of Austin. Schmeichel did well to parry, but was helpless as Leroy Fer followed up by driving the ball down and into the roof of the net.

From almost the restart Mahrez brought a great stop from Green on the angle, but the keeper could only watch the floated return graze the head of Vardy before it hit the bar and over.

Austin's low drive from Niko Kranjcar's lay back just shy of the hour brought the best out of Schmeichel for a full length dive and tip around the post.

Leicester City's Esteban Cambiasso and QPR's Charlie Austin

But surprisingly, the pendulum swung back in the Foxes favour. Jeffrey Schlupp's leveller from the edge of the box was hammered past an unsighted Green.

But Rangers weren't done.

Fer produced a towering header for another great save. But seconds later, another header from Nedum Onuoha was blocked, and who else but Austin was on hand to nod the ball home from point blank range.
