Karl Henry's sensational curling strike gave QPR their final win of the season as they dispatched Bristol City at Loftus Road in a 1-0 win.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink started Conor Washington in attack for only the second time this season, while Nedum Onuoha started having played every single minute of the R's Championship campaign.

Bristol City had the game's first chance, when Lee Tomlin found space 25 yards out from the QPR goal, but his curling effort failed to find its intended target in the top right hand corner.

The away side probably should've taken the lead when Luke Ayling found himself with far too much space on the Rangers left - the right back played in Jonathan Kodjia who left Clint Hill for dead with a dummy before Grant Hall put in a superb block to stop the City frontman.

Future: Grant Hall

The City front man found himself through again 35 minutes in with he flicked the ball over Cole Kpekawa before cutting into the box, but his strike was saved by a strong Matt Ingram who made himself look big in the Rangers goal.

QPR were so very nearly ahead 42 minutes in when they had two chances turned off the line within the space of seconds - Hill's looping header looked set to hit the back off the net before Aaron Wilbraham hacked it away, then Hall had his shot booted away by Nathan Baker.

Bristol City then hit the bar just before the break when Tomlin's strike deflected off Henry, with the ball eventually finding its way off the field.

A rare mistake from Hill just after the break allowed Kodjia in again, and the striker should have definitely scored this time but he dragged his shot wide from twelve yards out.

The away fans thought they had scored, much to the amusement of the Rangers faithful, when Tomlin's freekick hit the side net and nestled in the netting behind the goal 54 minutes into the game, but it was another let off for QPR.

Off the bench: Junior Hoilett

Tjaronn Chery had a freekick of his own in the 59th minute just outside the Bristol box, but his strike found its way over the bar after it looked like it clipped the top of the wall, but the referee insisted it was a Bristol goal kick.

But against the run of play QPR took the lead when Henry found himself with time and space on the edge of the City box and he let fly a superb curling effort that nestled in the top corner to give his side the lead.

Junior Hoilett and Michael Petrasso were introduced and the subs nearly combined 70 minutes in when Hoilett found Petrasso in the box, but his poked shot was blocked by Alex Pearce.

Sebastian Polter was also introduced for Washington and he nearly got himself on the score sheet when the ball kindly fell to him outside the box, but his thunderous strike rattle the crossbar and bounced away to safety.

The game failed to deliver any more real chances, ensuring QPR went into the summer with one last win under their belt.
