Brentford's pre-season preparations continued as they won an entertaining friendly at Oxford on Wednesday.

The Bees had led 2-0 at the half hour mark but, just after the hour, they found themselves 3-2 down.

However, they hit back with quickfire goals to take a hard fought victory and move forward with a positive mindset.

Below, GetWestLondon summarises the contest with the key moments from the 90 minutes.

What happened?

Brentford threw away a 2-0 lead to trail 3-2 before hitting back to win 4-3 at the Kassam Stadium by Oxford.

Florian Jozefzoon and Lasse Vibe put Brentford 2-0 up before Marvin Johnson's penalty reduced the deficit.

James Henry scored twice after the break to put the Yellows 3-2 up after some questionable Brentford defending.

However, the Bees hit back as Reece Cole's fine free kick was followed by Sergi Canos' fine finish from inside the box.

How did Jota play?

Jota modelling the new home kit

Pretty much as you would expect. His touch and guile oozed class and he showed why he has been heavily in demand.

His cross set up Jozefzoon's opener and he created a number of promising situations for the Bees.

If the club can hold onto the Spaniard, it will be a real coup.

What can we take from the game?

With the caveat of it's only a friendly, Dean Smith will have been disappointed with the way his side defended.

The Bees looked shaky at the back at times as the nature of the goals dictated, with Dean Smith's side looking vulnerable from balls down Oxford's left flank.

What's next?

Brentford host Southampton on Saturday at Griffin Park where their new home kit will be debuted. It is hoped that Neal Maupay and Kamohelo Mokotjo will make their first appearances in England while Ollie Watkins is expected to make his debut.
