Barnet made it back-to-back defeats as they were beaten by Northampton Town.

The Bees had gone three games without a loss before Bank Holiday Monday’s reverse at Cambridge and they followed that with another defeat on the road against the Cobblers on Saturday afternoon.

And it was a simple win for Northampton at a rain-soaked Sixfields Stadium as Sam Hoskins, Ricky Holmes and Marc Richards all found the net for the promotion-chasing hosts.

The three-goal win didn’t flatter the Cobblers and only a superb performance from Ian Lawlor between the sticks kept the score down as no less than five Bees players picked up yellow cards.

Barnet: Lawlor, Johnson, N’Gala, Dembele, Yiadom, Togwell, Weston (Odoffin 71’), Champion (Hoyte 57’), Gambin, McLean (Batt 57’), Akinde.

Subs (not used): McKenzie-Lyle, Gash, Lisbie, Muggleton.
