Marco Djuricin had a dream debut for Brentford at Leeds this afternoon – but the Bees' old Achilles heel came back to rob them off all three points.

Djuricin was barely half an hour into his Brentford career when Alan Judge cut in from the left beautifully to roll him in, and the striker took his time and took a touch before picking his spot clinically.

However, with 14 minutes left, another Bees debutant, Ryan Woods, gave the ball away barely a minute after coming on and Leeds took full advantage, Mirco Antenucci smashing home the equaliser.

It was a frustrating way to concede for the Bees, who often frustrated last season by giving away unnecessary goals after conceding possession in dangerous areas.

However, it would be harsh to blame Wood, who recovered to look assured and comfortable on the ball for the closing stages. Sergi Canos also came on for his debut late on, but too little was seen to form an opinion yet.

But the day belonged to Djuricin, who gave the Bees an energy and purpose they have been missing up front since Andre Gray's departure.

The Austrian also hit the post after being put in Vibe, who has pounced on a defensive error, while Leeds also struck the post when Chris Wood's shot deflected off James Tarkowski and onto the woodwork via David Button's glove.
