Brentford 3-1 Notts County

Alan Judge came back to haunt his former club as Brentford tightened their grip on second spot with an easy win over 10-man Notts County.

The Dubliner scored once in each half to wrap up victory in front of Ireland boss Martin O'Neill after Adam Forshaw's penalty had given the Bees the lead.

Boss Mark Warburton made one change from the team that drew at Sheffield United in midweek, with Stuart Dallas replacing Marcello Trotta.

The home side made all of the early running. Dallas had a shot blocked, while Judge stung the hands of Bartosz Bialkowski.

However, they eventually took the lead just after the half-hour mark.

Clayton Donaldson was upended in the box by Magpies defender Haydn Hollis, who received a straight red card.

Forshaw calmly stepped up to send Bialkowski the wrong way from the penalty spot.

The Bees should have doubled their lead before the break when Dallas picked out Judge, but he skewed his effort wide from six yards with the goal gaping.

However, the on-loan Blackburn man made amends on the stroke of half-time.

Alan McCormack played the ball forward, and Judge took it into his side before slotting past Bialkowski to make it 2-0.

The Bees started the second half as they finished the first, and extended their lead on 52 minutes.

Toumani Diagouraga was denied by Bialkowski, but Judge was on hand to slam home the rebound.

David Button did well to keep out Alan Sheehan's sweetly-struck free-kick as the visitors looked for a response.

However, Brentford almost added to their lead when Dallas did well to latch on a poor back-pass before teeing-up Judge, only for Bialkowski to deny him a hat-trick.

County grabbed a late consolation when former Bees loanee Jimmy Spencer pulled one back late on.
