Brentford 2-0 Leeds United

Brentford bounced back from successive defeats with a impressive win against Leeds.

Goals from Spanish midfielder Jota - his first for the club - and Alan McCormack earned the Bees a deserved victory at Griffin Park as Darko Milanic's reign as United boss began with defeat.

The hosts dominated throughout and Marco Silvestre produced a string of fine saves to keep them at bay.

Mark Warburton's men wasted a great chance to break the deadlock when James Tarkoswki missed a first-half penalty after Andre Gray was scythed down by Jason Pearce.

However, Jota gave them the lead on the stroke of half-time. Jonathan Douglas played in the Spanish midfielder, who beat two defenders before blasting beyond Silvestre into the roof of the net.

Brentford continued to threaten after the restart, with Silvestre doing well to deny Gray and Moses Odubajo.

At the other end, David Button had to be alert to keep out Pearce's goalbound header as Leeds looked for a leveller.

But McCormack wrapped up victory after the break when his shot cannoned off Pearce and wrong-footed Silvestre.
