Fulham 3-1 Huddersfield Town

Hugo Rodallega scored one and set up another as Fulham earned a hard-fought win against Huddersfield Town.

The Colombian marksman put the Cottagers ahead, only for Joel Lynch to level after the break.

However, goals from Lasse Vigen Christensen and Ross McCormack saw Kit Symons’ side take the points.

Fulham had a let off early on when Harry Bunn went down under the challenge of Nikolay Bodurov, but referee Andy Woolmer waved away Huddersfield’s penalty appeals.

Bunn then wasted the chance to break the deadlock as he fired his shot the wrong side of the post while clean through on goal.

Chance: Fulham's George Williams has a shot at goal

That miss proved costly as the Cottagers raced up the other end to take the lead.

McCormack played in Rodallega, who slotted the ball across Alex Smithies into the far corner.

George Williams hit the side netting, while Rodallega headed over from close range as the home side searched for a second.

Cottagers keeper Marcus Bettinelli was relieved to see Jacob Butterfield’s free-kick go inches wide as Town started on the front foot after the break.

But they had Smithies to thank for keeping them in contention when he palmed away Rodallega’s shot.

Opener: Hugo Rodallega scores the first goal for Fulham

Kostas Stafylidis was in the right place at the right time to clear Bunn’s shot off the line after the Man City man burst through the Fulham backline.

The visitors eventually levelled 15 minutes from time when Joel Lynch beat Bettinelli to Paul Dixon’s free-kick.

However, the hosts hit back within 60 seconds as Christensen skinned Mark Hudson before prodding past Smithies to restore Fulham’s lead.

McCormack wrapped up the points when his 25-yard screamer flew into the top corner to ease Fulham nerves.
