FA CUP, THIRD ROUND

Norwich City 1-1 Fulham

Fulham and Norwich City will have to it all over again after playing out an entertaining draw at Carrow Road.

Darren Bent had given the visitors the lead midway through the first half, only for Robert Snodgrass to level and force a replay.

Rene Meulensteen made nine changes from the side that beat West Ham, with Clint Dempsey coming straight into the starting XI and youngsters Dan Burn and Chris David handed debuts.

Josh Murphy fired over early on for the hosts, while at the other end, Dempsey tried his luck from long range.

Johan Elmander flashed an effort wide of David Stockdale's right post, while Murphy stung the hands of the Fulham keeper moments later.

Mark Bunn came to Norwich's rescue on 20 minutes when he dived full-stretch to keep out Alex Kacaniklic's curling effort. The Canaries keeper was tested again just before the half-hour mark, denying Bent after the Fulham frontman was slipped in by Pajtim Kasami.

Stockdale was called into action when Murphy let fly from outside the box, but it was the visitors who broke the deadlock on 39 minutes.

David delivered a teasing cross from the left, and Bent beat the onrushing Bunn to the ball to nod into the empty net.

Ricky Van Wolfswinkel came close to levelling almost immediately, but Stockdale turned the Dutchman's shot around the post.

However, the hosts did haul themselves back on terms on the stroke of half-time.
