MK Dons 1 Fulham 1

Moussa Dembele struck on the stroke of half time to earn Fulham a point at a freezing MK Dons this afternoon.

But the Whites had keeper Joe Lewis to be thankful early on for a string of fine saves, denying both Dean Bowditch and Josh Muphy before making another superb stop from a short corner in the opening stages.

Fulham's first sight of goal came on 21minutes, and Dembele really should have done better when Ross McCormack played a neat one-two before crossing, but sliding in, the Frenchman managed to spoon the ball over from a few yards out with the MK goal gaping.

Fulham were made to pay soon after when Bowditch put the visitors in front, firing in an effort from just inside the area which cannoned in off Lewis' left-hand post, with the Whites keeper a helpless spectator.

It could have been even worse minutes later as goalscorer Bowditch slid in to connect at the far post with a high ball swung in from the left, and with Lewis beaten, Luke Garbutt was fortunately on hand to clear off the line.

With half time approaching, Dembele made up for his earlier miss when he made the most of the ball breaking kindly for him in the Dons' area, McCormack putting in his strike partner after a charged-down shot reached him on the edge of the box.

The hosts had the lion's share of the chances in the second half, with Darren Potter heading a Murphy free kick just wide, Bowditch shooting softly when clean through on Lewis, and Nicky Maynard clearing the crossbar after being found with time and space in the area by Samir Carruthers.

For all that, Fulham came closest to winning it with 10 minutes remaining when Kyle McFadzean cleared off the line from McCormack, although Simon Church also went close for the hosts in time added at the end of the 90.
