Chelsea 1-1 Leicester

Chelsea rounded off their season with an 1-1 draw at home to Premier League champions Leicester but, much like many end of season affairs, it was a game dominated by events off the pitch.

Cesc Fabregas opened the scoring from the penalty spot but Danny Drinkwater struck back from 25 yards to give the champions a share of the spoils.

The Blues welcomed back former manager Claudio Ranieri, 12 years to the day after his last match with the west Londoners, and had a special presentation for their former boss who has won many friends this campaign.

Leicester fans made the trip ready to party and they reminded Stamford Bridge and the world where the Premier League trophy is currently residing.

For Chelsea fans, it was their last chance to implore captain John Terry to stay at the club after it emerged on Friday that he had been offered a new deal.

They stood and sang his name as the clock struck 26 minutes and singing 'John Terry, we want you to stay' and 'sign him up.'

The captain stood and thanked the fans for their gesture and gave them a wave but whether it was one of farewell remains to be seen.

As for action on the pitch, Jamie Vardy fired just wide early on before Kasper Schmeichel made three important saves to keep the scores at level pegging.

His first came from Willian as he stuck out his left hand to turn the shot wide before a superb double save first denied Fabregas and then Baba Rahman.

The second half saw him beaten as Jeffrey Schlupp brought down Nemanja Matic in the area and referee Craig Pawson pointed to the spot.

Fabregas stepped up and sent Schmeichel the wrong way to give Chelsea the lead.

But, with 10 minutes remaining, Danny Drinkwater let fly from 25 yards into the bottom corner to give the Foxes a share of the spoils.
