Chelsea recorded their biggest away win of the Premier League season and their best performance of the campaign as they put Crystal Palace to the sword.

Goals from Oscar, a fine strike from Willian and a Diego Costa tap in gave the west Londoners a comfortable win.

The league table had made the Eagles favourites for victory at Selhurst Park but it was the Blues who took command after a nervy opening spell that saw Eden Hazard hobble off with a groin injury inside 16 minutes.

Oscar celebrates scoring his team's first goal

Palace had possession and territory in the opening exchanges but a lovely pass from Cesc Fabregas sent Diego Costa away from nemesis Damien Delaney and the Spaniard teed up Oscar to open the scoring.

The goal settled Chelsea's nerves and they started to knock the ball around with a greater confidence.

The closest Palace came to an equaliser was when Wilfried Zaha broke down the left and his cross-shot was gathered by Thibaut Courtois in the Chelsea goal with Fraizer Campbell hovering at the back post.

The save was crucial as the Blues went up the other end and scored as Fabregas found Oscar, who was fouled by Scott Dann. The ball though, found Willian and he smashed the ball into the top corner.

The Brazilian was instrumental in the third goal as his shot was spilt by Hennessey and Costa tapped the ball home to make it three.

The Blues saw the game out as the home fans departed, not before showing frustration at Marouane Chamakh's final ball in the dying embers of the contest.
