Millwall 2–3 Brentford

Brentford recovered from losing a two-goal lead to win a pulsating London derby at Millwall this afternoon and record their third win on the spin.

The Bees had the better of the opening exchanges, with Moses Odubajo putting his effort wide from outside the area, Jota firing over following break from Millwall corner and Gray pulling a shot just wide following lovely ball from Jon Toral.

The hosts showed just how dangerous they could be too when Ricardo Fuller put a header just wide and Tony Craig, playing against his former club, was forced to clear his lines following a teasing ball in from Matthew Briggs.

But it was the Bees who took the lead minutes before the break when Alex Pritchard breached the Lions' defence with a lovely ball which Andre Gray latched onto to continue his rich scoring vein with a fine finish.

Toral should have done better with tame effort, while Lee Gregory saw a shot deflected over at the other end, but it twas 2-0 on 56 minutes when Gray bagged his fourth in three games after being put through by Alan Judge, who had robbed Matthew Briggs in the middle of the park.

At that point it all fell apart for Brentford as Millwall pulled level with two goals in as many minutes, Danny Shittu halving the deficit after Bees keeper David Button appeared to be impeded at a corner, before Alan Dunne equalised from the edge of the area after Brentford failed to clear their lines.

It could have got worse for the visitors when Gregory struck the post from a Briggs cross, but Brentford were hungry to get their lead back, as Gray's shot trickled wide after home keeper David Forde got his hands to it, and Toral's shot from the resulting corner was blocked.

The pressure soon told, and on 64 minutes Gray played a ball into the box which Shittu got to just ahead of Harlee Dean, but the QPR man only succeeded in putting the ball into his own net.

Millwall cranked the pressure up in the closing stages as Button was forced into a fine save from Fuller, while Dunne and sub Mathias Ranegie both failed to make the most of free headers.

With two minutes left, Gray had the ball in the net again, but his celebrations were cut short by an offside flag, while sub Stuart Dallas fired wide following a superb run down the left and Judge had an effort saved by Forde as the Bees finished with a flourish.
