Brentford made it an unbeaten pre-season as they rounded off their campaign against Celta Vigo with a 2-1 win.

Lasse Vibe gave the Bees the lead after being played through, wonderfully, by Josh McEachran with the Dane chipping Ruben Blanco.

Jota then doubled the lead with a delightful free kick that nestled in the top corner. The Spaniard produced a muted celebration against his former club.

There was concern before the break as Sergi Canos was forced off injured before the break with Florian Jozefzoon replacing him.

The Spanish side pulled a goal back early in the second half as John Guidetti scored after being played in by substitute Daniel Wass.

However, the Bees found their rhythm again and held on to claim victory.

John Egan

Below are how the players rated.

Daniel Bentley – Nothing he could do about the goal. Made some good saves, even if one was unconventional. 7

Henrik Dalsgaard – Impressed in the right back spot. A tough decision for Dean Smith to make next week. 8

John Egan – Led the side well and formed a good partnership with both Andreas Bjelland and Yoann Barbet. 7

Andreas Bjelland – A solid 45 minutes. Many expected him to be behind Barbet but the Dane showed his class. 7

Rico Henry – A typical Rico Henry performance from the young full back. In control throughout. 7

Kamo Mokotjo – Another excellent game as the South African mopped up ahead of the back four. 8

Josh McEachran – Delightful through ball to Lasse Vibe to give Brentford the lead. 8

Ollie Watkins – Some brilliant play from the young forward who looks to be a snip at the price Brentford paid for him. 8

Jota – A divine free kick put the Bees 2-0 up. A standard display. 8

Lasse Vibe – Led the line as everyone at Griffin Park has come to expect. 8

Sergi Canos – Linked up well with Henry but the injury will be a concern. 7

Substitutes

Florian Jozefzoon (for Canos) – A strong second half performance. 7

Yoann Barbet (for Bjelland) – Worked well alongside John Egan. 8

Nico Yennaris (for McEachran) – Looked sharp after an injury lay-off. Will hope to maintain his ever-present run. 8

Romaine Sawyers (for Watkins) – Just got on with the job and did well. 7

Ryan Woods (for Mokotjo) – A Ryan Woods display. 7

Neal Maupay (for Vibe) – Nearly added a third late on. 7
