Brentford were superb in the first half as they took a 1-0 lead into the break against Southampton.

The west Londoners produced their usual affair of attacking football and, while the Saints repelled them for 40 minutes, Lasse Vibe opened the scoring.

Going forward and defending, Dean Smith's side were on top form and fully deserved their 1-0 advantage.
