Brentford picked up a crucial point on the road as they drew at Blackburn but had to work hard after being on the back foot for large parts of the game.

The Bees were dealt an early blow inside the first 20 minutes as Marco Djuricin picked up a serious looking injury and was replaced by Konstantin Kerschbaumer.

The Bees, though, took the setback in their stride and took the lead after a superb pass from John Swift for Lasse Vibe to run on to and his shot deflected up Jason Steele into the air and dropped into the net.

Rovers though hit back and Brentford were guilty of ball-watching for the equaliser as Tom Lawrence's cross was left by the defence and drifted in at the far post past a despairing David Button.

The home side came out stronger in the second half and pegged the visitors back but the introduction of Sam Saunders lifted Lee Carsley's side.

Kerschbaumer forced a great save from Steele in the Rovers goal before Ben Marshall drew an excellent save from Button to keep the scores level.
